English Paper Piece Your Choice of Star Wars, Pokemon, TMNT, and More!

Love English Paper Piecing or want to learn to quilt by hand? Let’s hand sew together – learn to English Paper piece a 9″ Quilt of your choice! No experience or sewing machine needed at all!
 
Learn to English Paper Piece by creating a small quilt, 9″-12″ wide to be exact (depending on the pattern you choose). In this class we will start with the basic hexagon shape and add on triangles and/or half hexagons. You will not finish the quilt in class, but will gain the knowledge to finish on your own. The Zoom link will be made available to you at least a few hours before class. You can purchase the pattern only (and gather your own materials) for $10 or purchase an entire kit with all materials needed starting at $30 (please allow time for shipping with this option).  Toni will only be mailing full kits until September 9th for delivery in time in North America.

Foundation Paper Piece a D20

Love Foundation Paper Piecing or want to learn? Let’s sew a 6″ D20 block together! You only need knowledge of a sewing machine to take this class, no previous foundation paper piecing knowledge needed.

Learn to Foundation Paper Piece by creating a 6″ D20 block. In this class we will go over all of the basics of Foundation Paper piecing including reading the pattern, resizing, fabric selection, adding paper to fabric, sewing, trimming and removing the paper. This class includes the pattern and will be made available to you at least a few hours before class with the Zoom link.

Quilting 101 – Coffee Mug or Poop Block Seminar

Want to Learn to Quilt? You only need knowledge of a sewing machine to take this class! (Or have someone with you that knows how to use a machine – kids welcome with supervision). In this class we will go over all the basics of quilting. How to Rotary Cut fabric, how to piece an easy block, and how to add borders if you would like them. If you would like to participate you will need to purchase the pattern separately. This is a free lecture class and will not be using Zoom so Toni can’t see what you are doing. If you would like to have an interactive class please see the other quilting workshops available.

Cross Stitch: Novice and Beginner

This class is recommended for a complete novice to cross stitching. I will teach the two basic stitches used in most cross stitching pattern, along with the how to start a piece and why things are done certain ways. Class will be held on Zoom and the link for class will be on the class board a few hours before class starts. You will need to purchase a pdf pattern and materials before class starts, or you may buy a class kit with all the needed material instead. This class is recommended for cross stitchers with some experience or higher. I will go over the 4 most common basic stitches used in almost every cross stitch pattern, along with skills needed to work on plastic canvas. Class will be held on Zoom and the link for class will be on the class board a few hours before class starts. You will need to purchase a pdf pattern and materials before class starts, or you may buy a class kit instead. Introduction To Weaving

In this lecture, live on Twitch, we will introduce and discuss weaving basics such as loom types, weaving styles, terminology, and more. We will also field any questions about weaving during the lecture. These lectures will take place on Twitch at http://www.twitch.tv/loonyloomworks .

Weaving: Make Your Own Cardboard Box Loom

Want to learn how to weave but don’t have a loom? This class will teach you have to make your own loom from a small cardboard box, how to warp the loom, and do a beginning weave (Kids welcome under adult supervision due to sharp objects.) Specific materials are required for this class. The Zoom link will be made available to you at least a few hours before class.

Participants will need a cardboard box between 6-10in wide x 10-14in long x 3-7in tall, at least 30 yards of size 3-4 yarn, ruler or tape measure, a fork, pair of scissors, tapestry/yarn needle (optional), business card/ruler/gift card or like sized card (optional), and box cutter.

Weaving: Learn Basic Weaving Patterns

New to weaving and want to learn basic weaving patterns to add more flavor to your art? This class will teach multiple weaving patterns on a small, tapestry, frame, or slot loom. Participants must provide their own loom. Looms made in our “Weaving: Make Your Own Cardboard Box Loom” class can be used for this class. The Zoom link will be made available to you at least a few hours before class. Class will focus on the two patterns shown (checkered and clasped) and more will be introduced if time allows (plaid/tartan, designs, twill, and more.)

Participants will need their own loom (ones made in our Make Your Own Cardboard Box Loom can work for this), at least 50 yards of size 3-4 yarn (two colors, 25 yards each), loom comb or fork, pair of scissors, business card/ruler/gift card or like sized card (optional), tapestry/yarn needle (optional). Looms may be purchased at https://www.loonyloomworks.com/product-page/small-frame-loom. Please allow 7-10 business days for shipping inside of the U.S.

Weaving: How to Weave Fabric Coasters

Have a lot of fabric strips but nothing to do with them? This class will teach you how to weave with fabric strips to create a basic repurosed fabric coaster. Participants will need their own frame loom and materials. (Cardboard box looms can be used for this but is not suggested and results will vary if used.)

Participants will need their own loom, at least 10 yards of carpet warp or other highly durable warp, multiple fabric strips 0.5-0.75in wide x at least 24in long (minimum total length 5 yards), loom comb, and pair of scissors. Looms and other supplies are available at https://www.loonyloomworks.com/product-page/small-frame-loom . Please allow 7-10 business days for shipping inside of the U.S.
