While not a huge fan of taking care of plants indoors (I tend to forget about them and kill them, my bad) I do love the sight of having them around. Even better is when it’s done in a beautiful or creative way. Such as with the lovely glass planters made by SNLCreations.
Based in Minto, Canada, artisan Susan Napper-LeDuc creats these beautiful planters out of stained glass and soldered metal. They come in quite the range of sizes, but most tend to stay under 6″ meaning they can be placed in almost any home. If plants aren’t your thing, she also has a lovely collection of stained glass decor pieces and really her whole store is worth a look through as it’s just lovely.
Since my part of the world doesn’t want to move on from spring, I figure it’s still fair game to share spring type projects. This is a particularly cute one from the folks over at brudiy.
Aren’t these adorable? 😀 They remind me a lot of the cats from the app game Neko-Atsume with their style design. Anyway, these are a very fun and cute venture to try out and the supplies list is surprisingly inexpensive. It’s as easy as plastic bottle, scissors, spray paint and permanent/paint markers.
Once the base is made and decorated, simply fill with soil/rocks per your plant’s needs before re-potting the plant on top. You can even turn it into a hanging planter with just some holes and string. ^_^ Definitely a fun project if you’re stuck inside from the rain like I am, and you can find the full image walk thru here on brudiy.
Are you very in tune with nature? Do you like to grow plants and wish you could wear them around? Well, I have got the artist for you!
Susan McLeary of Passion Flower makes what she calls living jewelry. That’s because these aren’t you’re typical plant based accessories. Unlike most flower based items, not only are her pieces wearable, the plants used for them will live and grow on your jewelry for another 1-3 weeks! After which you can plant them at your own home and continue to enjoy them. ^_^ An excellent statement piece that you can feel good about wearing. Each piece is of course custom made to order from her own garden and covers every type of jewelry.
I’d personally love to see an entire wedding party decked out in her work. It’s a very elegant but marked divergent from the norm.
