Caps Off to You

Hello Sunday readers!

It’s the weekend and I’m pretty sure that some of us often celebrate with a little bit of libations, right? I’m an equal opportunity drinker but I do have a special passion for beer. Toni and I have gone on plenty of beer-ventures during our convention travels. Since I also have a tendency to collect things, I have a jar on the counter that holds used bottle caps, each from a different kind of beer. I’ve often wondered if I could do something with these caps to not only commemorate the beers themselves but also perhaps create some excellent art. After a bit of research, I will definitely need to up my drinking game if I want to be able to create my own bottle cap art. Some I have found are just astounding pieces, like this re-creation of Van Gogh’s Starry Night:

It may take a while for me to drink the necessary beer for something like this.

Or if I wanted to appeal to my more geeky side, this beer cap rendition of Boba Fett is equally well crafted:

This required a bounty-ful amount of caps.

Ok, let’s be honest here, if I were to take a look through my jar I just might have enough in the right colors for something like this:

Only mine would not include any caps from a certain AB named brewery.

Well since I still don’t have a lot of the color spectrum I guess there is only one thing to do…drink more beer! When I have enough to make something cool, I assure you it will be shared here. Enjoy the day and we’ll see you next week with some crafts to be thankful for.

Stay crafty!
